Personal & Academic Counseling

Philosophy of Personal & Academic Counseling Department

Our Counseling philosophy is rooted in the Jesuit tradition of cura personalis - care for the whole person. The college process is viewed as a journey of self-discovery, discernment, and growth, rather than a single destination. We guide each student with compassion, integrity, and respect, honoring their unique gifts and aspirations. Partnership with students and families is central to supporting thoughtful and balanced decision-making. Through reflection, dialogue, and thoughtful planning, students are empowered to make choices that align with their values and future goals. Ultimately, leaving SI more confident in who they are and the contributions they will make to the world.

Meet the SI Personal & Academic Counselors

Students are assigned their PAC when they get their schedules for 9th grade. The counselor name can be found in a student’s PowerSchool account.
