SI has partnered with renowned architectural firm Mark Cavagnero Associates to design the New Learning Commons so that faculty and students may easily adapt academic spaces to whatever needs they have. These spaces, which we are calling the Learning Lofts, will be conducive to collaborative, hands-on, and creative work that maximizes the value of teacher-student interactions.

Among the many talented students at SI who push themselves to achieve in multiple disciplines, Shea Tran ’24 has distinguished herself as a violinist in the orchestral music program, earning first chair and serving as the ensemble's concertmaster, while at the same time performing and choreographing for the dance and drill team.

Throughout SI's history, students and staff have traveled to school on foot, via Muni, and by car, but a significant number also commute by bicycle and, increasingly, e-bike or scooter.
