Accessing your SI Email

It is very important to check email regularly over the summer. SI students receive time-sensitive information about tryouts, new school year events, and deadlines via email.

Students should complete the “Get Familiar with your SI email” form by May 17.

To find your new SI email address and school-issued password:

  • Login to MySI portal using the same username and password used to apply and register.
  • Choose "Required Tasks for Frosh Students" from the side menu.
  • Find the Action heading and choose "View".
  • Choose "SI Account Information" to find your new SI email address and a temporary password.
  • Go to any Google login page and use those credentials to login. *If you already have a Google account, click on your account icon and choose +add another account.
  • Make sure to use @siprep.org not @gmail.com
  • If you cannot access email, please contact SI_librarians@siprep.org.

Changing Your Password
If you would like to change your password, you must change it via the SI website by going to https://www.siprep.org/pw. Do not use the “Forgot my password” link in the Google login box.

You will need your original password to create a new one, which can be found in the MySI portal under Your SI Accounts.

Difference Between Your Email and Username
Your SI email address and your SI username are the same except your email address ends with @siprep.org and your username does not.

When logging into Gmail, you will use your SI email address (bsimpson28@siprep.org)

When logging into other SI systems, such as PowerSchool and Canvas, you will use your SI username (bsimpson28).
The password will be the same for both your username and email and password changes will apply to both types of accounts. This is why it's very important to only do password changes on the SI website and not on any other site.

Mandatory Tech Training

All rising 9th graders are required to complete an online Mandatory Technology Training to get familiar with the platforms and technology that SI students use everyday.

  • The course will be available to students starting August 1 at 9 a.m. All necessary information about accessing the course will be in students' email inbox.
  • The asynchronous online course must be completed by August 10 at 6 p.m.

It will take about four hours to complete, but students may stop and pick up where they left off anytime between Aug. 1 - Aug. 10.

What will the training cover?
Canvas
Canvas is an online "place" to access the most important information you will need for each class you take at SI and submit your own contributions for each class you take at SI.

Each class you take will have it's own Canvas Course, which is where you will:

  • find the course syllabus, announcements, modules, calendar, pages & assignments.

  • receive feedback, grades, & messages from your teacher.

  • submit assignments & post to discussion boards.

  • and more.

PowerSchool
PowerSchool is an online grade book teachers use to input, calculate and publish grades, as well as keep and share attendance records. Students and parents can view the grades and attendance records in PowerSchool.

Sometimes students confuse Canvas and PowerSchool, but they are different tools and serve different purposes. Canvas is more like an online classroom or portal through which teachers share class content and students submit assignments, as well as collaborate and participate in online discussions.

iPad and other school apps
Students will learn how to use our school’s most important educational apps and set up their iPads to be effective academic tools.

iPads

Students should have the iPads they will use at SI by July 29. You will need it for the Mandatory Tech Training.

Don't know what iPad to buy? Want to use one you already have? All the information you need about iPads is here.

FAQs

Is my SI email password the same as the MySI Portal password I used for registration?

No. Students receive their SI email address and a new school-assigned password upon completing registration. They can find their SI email credentials by logging into the MySI Portal.

Why can't I change my password on the Google login page?

When logging into Gmail, you will use your SI email address (bsimpson28@siprep.org). When logging into other SI systems, such as PowerSchool and Canvas, you will use your normal SI username (bsimpson28).

The password will be the same for both your username and email, which means password changes will flow to both types of accounts. This is why it's very important to only do password changes on our website at https://www.siprep.org/pw and not on any other site.

How do I reset my password, if I can’t remember the last one I created?

Email SI_librarians@siprep.org. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible, but it could take up to 24 hours to receive a reply.

I'm a Father Sauer Academy scholar. Will I get a different email address & password when I become an SI student?

No, you will keep the same email & password you have used at FSA. You don't need to do anything to update it. However, after June, you can change your password if you wish at www.siprep.org/pw , although it is not required.

What apps will students need on their iPads?

Students will learn about and install the required school apps during the Mandatory Tech Training described above.
